The scam was clever, in fact it was nearly impossible to detect and we came very close to being scammed out of $2,000
After digging deeper into marketplace scams, we were shocked by the scale of the problem and the effective measures to protect consumers from scams

How BuyBudi Protects You
BuyBudi acts as a trusted intermediary between buyers and sellers. Once we facilitate a set of acceptance criteria agreed to by both parties, the buyer send the agreed amount to us which we hold in trust. We then instruct the seller to ship the goods to the buyer who in turn inspects the item in accordance with the agreed criteria. If satisfied, we release the funds to the seller, however if acceptance criteria are not met, we facilitate either a price reduction or a full return and distribute the funds accordingly. Because we eliminate the possibility of either party scamming the other by using BuyBudi, we protect both the buyer and the seller from being scammed.
